Modelling permanent resources
You can model permanent resources using the following methods:
- According to the amount of effort that the resource is required to perform, for example 80 Electrician hours (the Effort On Allocation modelling method).
- According to the amount of work that the resource has to perform, for example fit forty power outlets (the Work On Allocation modelling method).
- In proportion to the amount of work on the task, for example five rooms need rewiring and the resource has to fit four power outlets per room (the Work From Task modelling method).
- According to the amount of effort that is required to complete the task, where a group of resources are working together on the task and the amount of effort they put in is interchangeable (the Effort Activity Budget modelling method).
- Not modelled (the Non Modelled modelling method).
You select the modelling method you want from the Modelling Type field on the Assignment tab of the Permanent Resource Properties dialog, or the Modelling tab of the Permanent Allocation Properties dialog.
Non modelled permanent resources
Effort on Allocation modelled permanent resources
Work on Allocation modelled permanent resources
Work From Task modelled permanent resources
Effort Activity Budget modelled permanent resources
Combining Effort on Allocation and Effort Activity Budget allocations
Sharing effort between Effort on Allocation modelled resources
Combining the work rate of multiple Work From Task modelled resources
Specifying a work rate against tasks that overrides the work rate of permanent resources
