Exporting resource usage data
You can export resource usage data to other external files for use in other programs. This might be useful if you need to provide reports to colleagues who do not use Asta Powerproject themselves. The formats you can export to are:
- HTML.
- CSV.
You can also export resource usage data in comma-separated variable format to the Clipboard, from where you can then paste it into other applications.
Before you export resource usage data, you may find it useful to format the columns, heading and cells of the resource usage view to ensure that the data is displayed in the required units.

HTML is the format used for publishing documents on the internet, intranets and extranets. For example, if you want to publish monthly resource usage reports on your company's intranet, you could export resource usage data to HTML then link the HTML report into the intranet.
When you export to HTML, the resource usage information is converted to an HTML table, with a layout similar to that of the resource usage view itself - ie with the grouping rows distinct from the allocation rows.
To export resource usage data to HTML:
- Right-click an allocation row in the resource usage view and select Export from the menu that appears. The Resource Usage Export dialog appears.
- Select the Output to file (HTML or CSV) check box.
- Enter the path and file name (with a .HTM or .HTML extension) to apply to the file that is created when you export the resource usage data in the Export file name field.
- Click OK to create the HTML file.

Comma Separated Variable (CSV) files can be used by applications such as spreadsheets.
When you export to a CSV file, the output contains the allocation rows with the grouping values repeated for each row, which makes it easier to manipulate the data in a spreadsheet.
To export resource usage data to a CSV file:
- Right-click an allocation row in the resource usage view and select Export from the menu that appears. The Resource Usage Export dialog appears.
- Select the Output to file (HTML or CSV) check box.
- Enter the path and file name (with a .CSV extension) to apply to the file that is created when you export the resource usage data in the Export file name field.
- Click OK to create the CSV file.

To copy resource usage data to the Clipboard:
- Right-click an allocation row in the resource usage view and select Export from the menu that appears. The Resource Usage Export dialog appears.
- Select the Clipboard copy (CSV) check box.
- Click OK.
You can now paste the information from the Clipboard into another application.
