Project closedown and evaluation
Once a project is complete, it is important that you close it down to ensure that there are no loose ends. For example, you may need to finalise project documentation, deal with final accounts and archive all project information for future reference.
After the closedown, it is important to evaluate a project by comparing the planned project against the actual project. You may want to consider aspects such as cost and resource usage, the project schedule (task durations and relationships) and the procedures used to monitor and control the project.
By evaluating a project, you can determine what you did correctly, what you could have done better and what you have learned. At the end of the evaluation you may find that you have identified ways in which future projects could be improved. You should document any such recommendations for future reference.
