Producing reports
To manage projects effectively, you need to communicate project information to a variety of people:
- You have to show people in the project team what you want them to do.
- You have to show contractors and consultants what their tasks are.
- You have to convince your manager or client that you are maintaining control over expenditure.
You can use reports to extract information from a project and deliver it to the people who need it. You can create a wide variety of reports from

- A report for each person in the team, showing the tasks they have to do and when they have to do them.
- A report showing all tasks taking place in the next three weeks.
- A report showing all critical tasks, or tasks with a minimum amount of float.
- Variance reports (finish dates, percentage complete, cost, effort), between the current project and a previous baseline.
- Histograms showing the allocation of resources and costs throughout the project.
You can produce two types of report in Asta Powerproject: resource reports, which are based on resource and cost information, and tabular reports, which are task-based.
