Setting annotation defaults
You can specify a number of default annotation properties so that when you create an annotation, it takes your default properties and you have fewer properties to change later.
To specify default annotation properties:
- On the Project tab, in the Properties group, click Bar Chart Defaults. The Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog appears.
- Click the Annotations tab.
- From the Drawing group, select the default background colour (if any) and whether or not to display borders on annotations.
- From the Drawing Layer group, select whether to display annotations in the foreground, in the background, or in the background and behind bar chart gridlines.
- From the Category field, select the category in which to place annotations by default.
- From the Scaling and Anchor point groups, specify the way in which annotations are scaled for output.
- From the Margins group, enter the default margins you want to apply to text annotations.
- From the Font group, select the default font and point size you want to apply to text annotations.
- Close the dialog to resume work in the bar chart.
If you have an annotation with all the properties that you want to use as the new defaults, right-click it and select Copy Properties to Defaults. That annotation's properties then become the new defaults, replacing the settings on the Bar Chart Defaults Properties dialog.
