Background colours and borders in annotations
Annotations can have a background colour and a border. You can choose which colour to use for the background, and whether or not to display an annotation's border.
For best results with PNG files that include transparencies, it is recommended that you display them without a background colour and with no border. Other annotations will look at their best with a border and/or a background colour applied.
To specify a background colour and display a border around an annotation:
- Select the annotation then click
on the Quick Access toolbar. The Annotation Properties dialog appears.
- Click the General tab.
- From the Drawing group, select a background colour if you want the annotation to display a background colour, or select None if you want to display the annotation without a background colour. For some annotations, displaying them without a background colour gives a transparent effect.
- Select the Show border check box if you want to display a border on the annotation's bounding box, or clear the check box if you want to display the annotation without a border.
- Close the Annotation Properties dialog when you have finished.
You can change the colour of text in a text annotation by selecting the annotation or highlighting some of the text within it, then choosing a colour from the Formatting toolbar. You cannot change the colours of picture or OLE annotations other than the background colour.
