Asta Vision
Asta Vision is a solution offering cloud-based storage of Asta Powerproject data files alongside workflow management and reporting. It utilises the power of the Microsoft Azure® platform for all identity management, security, file storage, databases and processing.
Asta Vision is a subscription service and integrates directly with the Asta Powerproject client, with no additional software installation required.
Three versions of Asta Vision are available:
- Asta Vision - the full version of Asta Vision, in which you can customise your own workflow, set up different user roles to mirror the various functions carried out by administrators, managers and planners in your organisation, use security and email rules to determine the actions that users of each role can carry out and the events about which users of each role should be notified, and use Business Intelligence to set up your own reports.
- Asta Vision Lite - a cut-down version, in which your projects use a predefined, non-editable, workflow, and which lacks the full version's configuration and Business Intelligence options.
- Asta Vision Live - a version that offers all the benefits of Asta Vision, plus the ability for users to collaborate in real time on projects in Asta Powerproject, working together on the projects at the same time.
The following diagram illustrates the basic structure of the Asta Vision system, displaying the required hardware and the software that is installed on each item of hardware:

HTTPS access required for licensing, online Help and optional Cloud services. Also required if Asta Vision is used, to configure Asta Vision and to download, check out and check in Asta Vision programmes.
If the Asta Powerproject client is going to be used to configure Asta Siteprogress Mobile, or to export and import Asta Siteprogress Mobile data, it must be able to access Elecosoft's Cloud server via HTTPS. No proxy server settings should be necessary unless your IT configuration applies restrictions to HTTPS traffic. If you require further information on this - for example, if you need to know the precise URL and port number that are used to access the Cloud server - please contact Elecosoft's Technical Support department. |

* "Home" editions of Microsoft Windows operating systems do not include some of the technologies that are required to fully operate Asta Powerproject and its activation technologies, so these editions are not supported environments for Asta Powerproject. If using a "Home" edition of a Microsoft Windows operating system is a requirement, consider using Asta Powerproject SaaS instead, which does work in this environment.
