Asta Powerproject version 17.2.8 release notes

Before this release, if you wanted to enable different users to collaborate on projects in real time, you had to use Asta Enterprise, which involved setting up and maintaining an Asta Enterprise server to which Asta Powerproject clients could connect.

Now, you can enable users to collaborate on projects in real time using Asta Vision Live - a much simpler solution, with no need to set up and maintain an Asta Enterprise server. If your organisation uses Asta Vision Live - a version of Asta Vision that enables users to collaborate on programmes - users are able to work together on a set number of Asta Vision programmes at any one time.

If collaboration is enabled on a project in Asta Vision, rather than checking out programmes individually, users can start a 'collaboration session' on the project's programmes, which other users can join. The users can work together on a programme while the collaboration session is active, with each user having the programme open in Asta Powerproject at the same time, saving their individual changes to the project. Once the users have finished working on the programme, the user that started the collaboration session can check in or submit the programme to Asta Vision, at which point the collaboration session ends.
