Asta Powerproject version 16.0.01.280 release notes

This topic lists the issues that have been addressed in the Asta Powerproject version 16.0.01.280 fast track release.

Issue 32313
Category Date zone
Summary The order of lines in the date zone can change if you save a project in the file format of an earlier version.
Description Before this release, if you saved a project using the file format of an earlier version, the order of lines in the date zone could change. For example, a line that appeared above another line in Asta Powerproject version 15.0.02 could appear below it in Asta Powerproject version 14.
Resolution This was caused by an earlier fix to an issue in Asta Powerproject version 15.0.02. This error has now been addressed, so date zone lines remain in the correct position when you save projects using the file format of an earlier version.

Issue 32438
Category Date zone
Summary Tick marks in the date zone appear on the wrong days.
Description Before this release, tick marks in the date zone could appear on the wrong days for some date zone lines. For example, the tick marks could show that weeks started on a Friday rather than on a Monday.
Resolution This was caused by an earlier fix to an issue in Asta Powerproject version 15.0.02, which meant that the 'date zero' was incorrectly used as the alignment date for tick marks. This error has now been addressed, so tick marks in the date zone now appear on the correct day.

Issue 32783
Category Slip
Summary Slip calculated incorrectly on one task.
Description A customer reported that Asta Powerproject gave a slip value of 33d for a task, in a progress period that was earlier than the start date of the task. The task in question was 100% complete, with subsequent tasks on the same bar, all of which were unprogressed.
Resolution This problem could be reproduced on other 100% complete tasks, with subsequent tasks on the same bar, all of which were unprogressed. This error has now been addressed, so Asta Powerproject now reports slip correctly in this situation.

Issue 32785
Category Progress
Summary Overall percent weightings change when the remaining duration of progressed tasks is altered.
Description Since the release of Asta Powerproject version 15.0.02.405, the duration of a task has been used to determine its overall percent weighting - unless you manually edited a task's weighting, in which case the value you had specified was used. A customer complained that unless they had baselined a project, the weighting of progressed tasks would change if the tasks' duration remaining was changed subsequently. The customer argued that once progress had been recorded against a task, its overall percent weighting should not change, even if the task's duration remaining was changed.
Resolution

Asta Powerproject now uses a task's original duration to determine its overall percent weighting. The original duration is the duration of a task before any progress has been applied. If the duration of a task is changed before any progress has been applied, its weighting is updated automatically to reflect the new duration, but once progress is applied to a task, the weighting no longer changes, even if the duration of the task does.

A Calculated weight field has been added to the 'Progress' fields, on the Task tab of the Bar and Task Properties dialog - and to the corresponding tab of the properties view. This field displays the calculated overall percent weighting of a task. This will be the task's original duration in hours, unless you have manually edited the weighting.

'1.00' normally appears in the Overall % complete weight field. This means that Asta Powerproject will calculate the weighting of a task automatically, setting it to be the task's original duration in hours. If you want to override the weighting with your own value, enter this value in the Overall % complete weight field. This value then appears in the Calculated weight field, and does not change, even if the duration of the task changes.

If you have manually edited the weighting of a task and subsequently want to revert to its weighting being calculated automatically, you can enter '1.00' in the Overall % complete weight field. The weighting will then be calculated automatically once more, according to its original duration in hours.

In addition, baselining a project no longer has any effect on the overall percent weighting of a task.

Issue 32792
Category Asta Powerproject 4D
Summary Pressing ALT + Print Screen does not save an image of the Asta Powerproject 4D screen.
Description Since the release of Asta Powerproject version 16.0.01, pressing ALT + Print Screen did not save an image of the Asta Powerproject 4D screen, as it used to do previously.
Resolution This problem was caused by the print screen function trying to save images to a folder to which the user had insufficient permissions. Asta Powerproject 4D now saves images of the screen to the user's 'Pictures' folder - a folder to which the user should always have permissions - which has resolved the problem.

Issue 32793
Category Asta Powerproject 4D/Activation
Summary BIM-related controls in Asta Powerproject are ghosted when you import a new IFC model into a project.
Description Since the release of Asta Powerproject version 16.0.01, if you attempted to import a new IFC model into an existing project in Asta Powerproject 4D, the BIM-related controls in Asta Powerproject were ghosted.
Resolution This problem was caused by changes to Asta Powerproject's activation code that were introduced in version 16.0.01. The problem has now been addressed.

Issue 32800
Category Asta Powerproject 4D
Summary Display anomalies in some IFC models when opened in Asta Powerproject 4D.
Description A customer reported that since the release of Asta Powerproject version 16.0.01, some IFC models displayed anomalies when opened in Asta Powerproject 4D. For example, some IFC models displayed extraneous lines radiating across the entire width of the model.
Resolution This problem was caused by an error in the code, which has been resolved.

Issue 32803
Category Links
Summary Asta Powerproject crashes when the mouse pointer is positioned over the Add Link button.
Description A customer reported that Asta Powerproject crashed intermittently when they positioned the mouse pointer over the Add Link button, on the Links tab of the Bar and Task Properties dialog.
Resolution The crash was caused by Asta Powerproject failing to display the button's tooltip correctly. The problem has now been resolved.
