Creating a new IFC model Library Explorer object
IFC model Library Explorer objects are created automatically when you specify that a 3D model is to be used within a project in Asta Powerproject 4D, using the 4D tab of the Backstage view. You can also create new IFC model Library Explorer objects manually if you wish.
To create an IFC model Library Explorer object for a 3D model:
- Launch Library Explorer and click IFC Model in the left pane. All existing IFC models appear in the right pane of Library Explorer.
- Right-click a blank area of the right pane of Library Explorer and select New IFC Model from the menu that appears. The Select IFC dialog appears.
- In the left pane of the dialog, click Local IFC.
- In the right pane of the dialog, click Browse. A dialog appears in which you can browse for the 3D model that you want.
Each time you select a 3D model from a particular folder, the folder is added to the list of recently-used folders in the right pane of the Select IFC dialog. You can click any of the recently-used folders to access the 3D models within that folder instantly, rather than having to browse for the folder each time. - Select the 3D model for which you want to create an IFC model Library Explorer object and click Open to create the IFC model Library Explorer object.
