Rotating 3D models using the view cube

You can use the view cube to rotate 3D models. The view cube appears at the top-right of the IFC Model and IFC Comparison Model panes, with the orientation of the view cube reflecting that of the 3D model:

Hover the mouse pointer over the view cube to bring it into focus:

If you hover the mouse pointer over a face, side or corner of the view cube, the face or corner is highlighted, as illustrated below:

Click the left mouse button to bring the highlighted face, side or corner of the cube to the front, rotating the 3D model at the same time:

If you have rotated a 3D model and are unsure at any point which way is "up", a glance at the view cube can help you to orientate yourself.

To reset the view cube back to its original orientation, click the home icon that appears when you hover the mouse pointer over the view cube.

Turning off the view cube

If you find that the view cube obscures your view of a 3D model, you can turn it off. To do this, click the cube icon that appears when you hover the mouse pointer over the view cube. The view cube disappears and the icon changes to crossed-out cube. Click this icon again to redisplay the view cube.
