Assignment view
The assignment view lists all the resources and costs that have been assigned to a selected task. The assignment view has two panes:
- The left pane lists all the permanent resources, consumable resources, allocation groups and cost centres in the project.
- The right pane, the assignment grid, lists the items that have been assigned to the selected task.
If you select a different task, the assignment view refreshes automatically to display the selected task's allocations. If you select more than one task, no information is displayed, as the assignment view can only display information for one task at a time.
By default, allocations of the same resource are grouped together and sorted in the following order in the assignment grid:
- Parent demand allocations.
- Demand allocations.
- Scheduled allocations.
In the assignment grid, each resource or cost allocation is listed separately so that you can edit them individually. If you assign the same resource or cost centre more than once to the same task, each allocation is displayed separately and numbered so that you can differentiate one allocation from another. When you assign an allocation group to a task, the name of the allocation group is displayed among the details of each allocation from within that group.
