User Field Manager dialog

You use the User Field Manager dialog to create your own user-defined fields for local projects (that is, projects not saved to a server-mounted data source). You can use user-defined fields to store whatever information you like.

Once you create a user-defined field, it becomes available on the User Fields tab of the appropriate Properties dialog, where you can use it to record information about the object. For example, if you create a user-defined field in the calendar table, the field is available on the User Fields tab of the Calendar Properties dialog. One exception to this is user-defined fields that relate to bars or tasks, which become available on the Bar and Task tabs of the Bar and Task Properties dialog.

You can use user-defined fields to link objects, for example tasks and resources, to external documents. You do this by creating 'URL'-type user-defined fields. You can then enter hyperlinks to external documents, or to webpages on the internet or an intranet, into these fields.

To create user-defined fields for server-mounted data sources, use the Server Admin application which is supplied with Asta Enterprise.
