Tabular Report Wizard
You use the Tabular Report Wizard to create new tabular reports, which output project information in a tabular format similar to the spreadsheet. You can present your tabular reports in a wide variety of formats, printing them out or outputting the reports to file.
You use this page of the Tabular Report Wizard to specify the path and file name of the XLS file you want to update when you execute the report in Microsoft Excel® format. You can also specify a Microsoft Excel template file to use when creating the XLS file, and specify which worksheet number you want to be updated with the tabular report information.

To access the Tabular Report Wizard, on the Project tab, in the Data group, click the Reports dropdown and select New Tabular Report.

Field/Button | Description |
---|---|
Output filename |
If you want to update an existing XLS file with report information, enter the path and file name of the XLS file you want to update when you execute the report.
If you specify a path and file name, the tabular report is output to the specified file without opening. If you do not specify a path and file name, the tabular report is opened in a new XLS file, which you can then save if you want.
If you specify an existing XLS file, all existing data in the specified worksheet is deleted, and the tabular report is pasted into this worksheet. Any formatting in the existing file is retained. If you specify an existing XLS file, you must ensure that the file is not open when you execute the tabular report, or the output will fail. |
Browse | If you want to update an existing XLS file with report information, click this button to browse for the XLS file you want to update when you execute the report. |

Sheet number |
Specify which worksheet number you want to be updated with the tabular report information.
Specifying a worksheet number may be useful if you want to update a single XLS file with information from more than one tabular report: you can specify the same XLS file but a different worksheet number for each report. |
