Split Tasks dialog
You use the Split Tasks dialog to specify the way in which the selected task is split into two separate tasks. You can use this dialog to split tasks at a specified duration, at a specified percentage of the duration, or at a specific date and time.
When you split a task, the task is divided into two or more tasks on the same bar. You can edit each task individually. The resulting tasks retain the properties of the initial task. For example, any resources or costs that were allocated to the initial task are allocated to the resulting tasks.

To access the Split Tasks dialog, right-click a task, select Split/Join from the popup menu that appears, then select Split.
