Ruling Lines Properties dialog - Specific tab
You use the Specific tab of the Ruling Lines Properties dialog to set up specific ruling lines, which appear on the currently-selected bars.
How to access the Ruling Lines Properties dialog
To access the Ruling Lines Properties dialog, on the Format tab, in the Format group, click Ruling Lines.
Explanation of the fields on the dialog
| Field | Description |

| Appearance | Double-click this field to specify the appearance of the ruling line that you want to apply to the currently selected bars. |
| Visibility | Specify whether the ruling line is enabled or disabled; you can also choose to display it in the bar chart only, or in the spreadsheet only. |
| Position | Specify the position in which to display the ruling line relative to the currently selected bars - above the bars, below the bars, or above and below the bars. |
| Alignment | Specify whether the ruling line should be displayed inside the currently selected bars or on the edge of the bars. |
| Leave selected lines | Click this radio button to leave any existing ruling lines on the currently selected bars unchanged. |
| Remove rules from selected lines | Click this radio button to remove any existing ruling lines from the currently selected bars. |
| Apply rule to selected lines | Click this radio button to apply the ruling line that you specify using the fields above to the currently selected bars. |

... add a specific ruling line to the currently selected bars?
- Double-click the Appearance field to display the Line Appearance dialog, in which you can specify the appearance of the ruling line.
- Specify whether or not to display the ruling line, or to display it only in the spreadsheet or only in the bar chart, in the Visibility field.
- Specify the position in which to display the ruling line relative to its bar in the Position field.
- Specify whether the ruling line is displayed inside its bar or on edge of its bar in the Alignment field.
- Select one of the following options:
- Leave selected lines - to leave the existing ruling lines on the selected bars unchanged.
- Remove rules from selected lines - to remove the existing ruling lines from the selected bars.
- Apply rule to selected lines - to apply this ruling line to the selected bars.
