You use the Line Appearance dialog to specify the format of lines.

| Field | Description |

| Line style selector | Specify the style to apply to the line. |
| Outline | Click this radio button to apply the selected colour to the outline of the line. |
| Fill | Click this radio button to apply the selected colour to the central fill of the line. |
| Both | Click this radio button to apply the selected colour to the outline and the central fill of the line. |
| Colour selector | Select the colour to apply to the line. |
| Width | Specify the width at which to display the line. |
| Compress... stretch |
Use the slider control to specify the amount by which to compress or stretch the line style.
Note that the effects of this control are apparent only if you select a broken line style - a dotted line, for example. |

... specify the appearance of the selected line?
- Specify the style to apply to the line using the line style selector.
- Specify the colouring to apply to the line in the Colour selection group.
- Specify the width at which to display the line in the Width field.
- Use the Compress... stretch slider control to specify the amount by which to compress or stretch the line style.
