Select by Filter dialog
You use the Select by Filter dialog to search for, and select, bars, tasks and allocations that match the criteria of a selected filter. You can also create new filters and edit or delete existing filters by using this dialog.

To access the Select by Filter dialog, on the Home tab, in the Editing group, click .

Field/Button | Description |

Category | If your filters have been organised into different categories, select the category in which the required filter is located. |
Filter list | Select the filter whose criteria you want to apply. |
Include completed sections | Select this check box if you want tasks, or sections of tasks, that have been progressed to be selected, or clear the check box if you want unprogressed tasks only to be selected. |
New | Click this button to create a new filter. |
Properties | Click this button to edit the properties of the selected filter. |
Delete | Click this button to delete the selected filter. |
How do I...

- If the filter whose criteria you want to apply has been categorised, select the category in which the filter is located in the Category field.
- Select the filter whose criteria you want to apply in the main field on the dialog.
- Select the Include completed sections check box if you want tasks, or sections of tasks, that have been progressed to be selected, or clear the check box if you want unprogressed tasks only to be selected.
- Click OK.

Click New. The Filter Properties dialog appears, in which you can create a new filter.

- Select the filter you want to edit.
- Click Properties. The Filter Properties dialog appears, in which you can edit the selected filter.

- Select the filter you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
