Format Task Appearances dialog
You use the Format Task Appearances dialog to specify the foreground colour, background colour and pattern in which different types of task are displayed. The colours and patterns that you specify here are applied to the different types of task if you click the Use default radio button on the Tasks tab of the Format Bar Chart dialog; otherwise, the appearance of tasks is determined by the codes that have been allocated to them.
As an alternative to colouring tasks according to the codes that are assigned to them, you can configure Asta Powerproject to colour them with the appearance of the lead resource that is assigned to them. You can use this dialog to specify that you want to colour tasks in this way. Choosing to colour tasks according to the appearance of their lead resource overrides the other appearance settings on this dialog for tasks that have a lead resource. Despite the name "lead resource", both resources and cost centres can be considered as lead resources, which means that you can colour tasks according to the appearance of the lead resource, or the lead cost centre that is assigned to them.

To access the Format Task Appearances dialog, click Change Appearances on the Tasks tab of the Format Bar Chart dialog.

How do I...

- Use the colour and pattern fields on the dialog to specify the appearance of each type of task.
- If you want the appearance of tasks to be determined by the appearance of their lead resource (which can be either a resource or cost centre), select the Determine task appearance from lead resource assignment check box. Selecting this check box overrides the other appearance settings on this dialog for tasks that have a lead resource.
