Hierarchies in the project view
The project view displays hierarchies and libraries within the project, or portfolio of projects, including the natural order hierarchy, the resource hierarchy, the cost centre hierarchy, the calendar library, the code library hierarchy and the progress period hierarchy. If the project view is configured to display task pools, any task pools that have been created within the project appear in the project view in a similar manner to, but separate from, the project hierarchy.
To view the contents of a hierarchy, click the + box alongside the hierarchy or double-click the hierarchy's name. The subcharts and summary groups or folders on that level of the hierarchy are displayed in the project view. You can expand further levels of the hierarchy by clicking the + box alongside a subordinate item in the hierarchy, or by double-clicking its name. To expand all of the levels in a branch of a hierarchy, right-click an item in the hierarchy and select Expand - All Levels; to expand the hierarchy to a specific level, right-click an item and select Expand - To n Levels (where n is the number of levels to which you want to expand the hierarchy). To contract a branch of a hierarchy, right-click an item and select Contract.
You can specify which hierarchies are displayed in the project view using the
Show Types in Project View dialog.
