Moving bars and tasks

You can easily move bars and tasks after you have drawn them. Move bars and tasks horizontally to change their start and finish dates, or vertically to rearrange their order in the schedule. Moving a summary or expanded task moves the task and all its subordinate tasks (except whole tasks or sections of tasks that are complete).

You can move individual bars and tasks, or you can select groups of bars or groups of tasks and move them all at the same time. You cannot move combinations of both bars and tasks.

If you have more than one project open, you can move bars and tasks from one project to another. When you move or copy tasks across projects, any assignments of library objects such as codes, calendars and resources are preserved because if these objects do not already exist in the destination project, they are created. Unique task IDs and work breakdown numbering is also maintained in copied tasks, unless any of the IDs conflict with IDs in the destination project.

You can also move bars and tasks using cut, copy and paste commands.
