Deleting baselines

If you no longer want to use a baseline with a project, you can delete it. The method of deletion varies depending on whether you are working with a local project or an Enterprise project, and - for local projects - whether the baseline is embedded or exists as a separate file. A graphical indicator - four horizontal grey bars - is displayed in the Name column in the Baseline/What If Manager dialog for any baselines that are embedded. This makes it easy to identify which baselines are embedded and which exist as separate files.

Once a baseline has been deleted, the information it contained is no longer available. If you want to retain the information from a baseline for reference purposes, but still delete it from a project, export the baseline to a separate file before you delete it.
