Cutting, copying, pasting and deleting annotations

To cut an annotation from the active bar chart view, do any of the following:

• Select the annotation, then on the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click Cut.
• Right-click the annotation, then select Cut.
• Select the annotation then press CTRL X or SHIFT DEL.

The annotation is removed from the view and placed on the Clipboard so that it can be pasted back into the same view or elsewhere.

You can use the same techniques to cut a selected block of text from one text annotation to another.

To copy an annotation in the active bar chart view, do any of the following:

• Select the annotation, then on the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click Copy.
• Right-click the annotation, then select Copy.
• Select the annotation, then press CTRL C or CTRL INS.

The annotation remains in the view but a copy of it is placed on the Clipboard so that it can be pasted back into the same view or elsewhere.

You can use the same techniques to copy a selected block of text from one text annotation to another.

To paste the annotation(s) currently held on the Clipboard, do either of the following:

• On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click the Paste dropdown and select Paste.
• Press CTRL V or SHIFT INS.

The annotation is pasted into the current view at approximately the same position from which it was cut or copied.

To paste a block of text into a text annotation, double-click the annotation and move the text insertion bar to the correct position, then use any of the techniques described above.

You can create annotations using data from other programs by creating OLE annotations.

If you have tasks selected when you paste an annotation, the annotation is pasted onto each selected task.

To delete an annotation, do either of the following:

• Right-click the annotation, then select Delete.
• Select the annotation, then press DEL.

The annotation is removed from the bar chart and cannot be pasted elsewhere.
