Sharing quality metric settings between quality checks and projects

Once you have set up a quality check, you can export its metric settings then import them as a new quality check - in the same project or in other projects - which saves you from having to set up metrics for each of your quality checks individually if you want to use the same or similar metrics in more than one quality check. If you export a quality check's metric settings in this way, you can then create a corresponding quality check in Asta Vision. Quality metric settings are exported into a file with a .JSON extension, which you can then import into other projects. The file contains the quality check's metric settings, but not its scope settings, which you have to define separately in each quality check.

If you use Asta Vision to store your Asta Powerproject projects in a single location in the Cloud, you can upload a quality check's *.JSON file to create a quality check in Asta Vision, apply the quality check to a particular programme type, and use the results of the quality check to determine whether a programme of that type can be submitted. Refer to the "Working with quality checks" topic in the Asta Vision Help for detailed information about using quality checks with Asta Vision.

To export quality metric settings from a quality check:

  1. Open Library Explorer.
  2. Open the Quality Check library. All existing quality checks appear in the list view.
  3. Right-click the quality check whose metric settings you want to export and select Export quality metric settings. The Save As dialog appears.
  4. Select the location in which to save the quality metric settings file and enter a file name in the File name field, then click Save. The quality metric settings are saved into the file.

To import quality metric settings:

  1. If you want to import quality metric settings into a quality check in a different project, open the project in Asta Powerproject.
  2. Open Library Explorer.
  3. Open the Quality Check library. All existing quality checks appear in the list view.
  4. Right-click a blank part of the list view and select Import quality metric settings. The quality metric settings are imported and appear as a new quality check. You can now configure the new quality check as required.

You can also import quality metric settings by right-clicking a blank part of the Quality Checks pane and selecting Import quality metric settings from the menu that appears.
