Selecting items
Before you can edit an item within a border, for example a shape, line, text box or picture, you must select it. You can select a single item, or more than one item at the same time. Selecting more than one item at the same time is useful if you want to apply the same formatting to them all, or place them all into the same category.

- Position the cursor over the item you want to select.
- Click the left mouse button.
Small black boxes appear around the edge of the selected item. These are known as handles.

- Hold down CTRL.
- Click on the items you want to select, keeping CTRL held down.
- Release CTRL when you have selected the items.
Alternatively, you can drag the cursor over the items you want to select. A selection rectangle extends from the cursor as you drag. Items that are completely enclosed by the selection rectangle are selected when you release the mouse button.

Click away from the item anywhere else within the border.
